Something had to Change
I am often asked how I got into hypnotherapy and the answer is simple. Many years ago I had a few personal problems and I tried everything to fix them, but nothing seemed to work.
Sometimes the change lasted for a few days or weeks but then the old habits always returned and I didn’t understand why. I knew what I wanted to change but I just couldn’t find the how to do it, it was frustrating and I felt stuck.
I didn’t like the idea of traditional therapy and merely talking about the problem hadn’t helped me at all so I began to look elsewhere.
Finding Hypnosis and what I wanted to do
The first time I experienced hypnosis was quite special to me. I wasn’t sure what to expect being hypnotised but it felt normal, I wasn’t asleep and I heard every word the hypnotist said. But then things in my life began to change and I struggled to understand why. Now I do. I was lucky to find the right course, at the right time to learn the why but also the how to help me and others make amazing changes.
I knew what I wanted to do and knew it worked and I have been doing it ever since. I have been able to make a huge difference to thousands of people’s lives in the last 20 years and am passionate about showing people how to change and that is the reason why I do what I do.
Becoming a Hypnotherapist
I trained as an advanced hypnotherapist in 2004 at the Atkinson-Ball College, a specialised clinical hypnosis training school that has been established for well over 40 years. After qualifying I was invited to join the exclusive Corporation of Advanced Hypnotherapy, an organisation that requires advanced training to be completed before a hypnotherapist is invited to become a member.
Since I trained I have continued to develop my own blend of hypnotic tools and techniques and think of myself as a student of hypnosis and finding quicker and more effective ways of helping people. It still amazes me with some of the challenges I have helped people achieve with hypnosis.
